The research activities of Prof. Fabrizio Scala are broadly related to the fields of chemical and environmental engineering, and fluidized bed technology. More specifically, he is studying: combustion, gasification & pyrolysis processes in fluidized bed reactors; carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) techniques (calcium looping, chemical looping, oxy-combustion, methanation); combustion pollutants abatement (SOx, NOx, Hg). He is author or co-author of more than 200 publications in journals, volumes, books and conference proceedings. He has given many invited seminars/lectures and has been external examiner of many PhD dissertations worldwide.
